Proudly Serving the Kyle, Buda, Plum Creek, and Mountain City Areas Since 1996

We have five full time veterinarians with nearly a century of combined experience here to serve you and your pets. Because of this, and unlike many of the chain hospitals, we rarely use the services of temporary or "relief" vets and staff members.

We also heavily utilize the services of surrounding specialists and emergency hospitals. If your pet needs more advanced medicine, diagnostics, surgery, or other procedures than we are comfortable performing, we will not hesitate to call in specialists such as MVS Austin, or refer you to area specialty hospitals such as Central Texas Veterinary Specialty HospitalCapital Area Veterinary SpecialistsMission Veterinary SpecialistsAllure Pet Specialists, South Texas Veterinary Specialists, or one of the many others we commonly work with.

Because we are the largest combined practice between Austin and San Antonio, your pet receives the benefits of our pooled knowledge without sacrificing the personal relationships so critical to good communication. At the same time, all of our vets are committed to maintaining the high standards of best medicine first that Dr. Mathews started with 25 years ago. We may add staff, but we do not change core values.

Dr. Guy Mathews

Dr. Mathews with wife Angie, sons Hayden and Davis, and furry kids Ransom and Divine.

Dr. Guy Mathews

Dr. Guy Mathews is a 1993 honors graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. His special interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and critical care medicine.

Dr. Mathews has been with Kyle Animal Hospital since the first client walked through the door in June of 1996.  Dr. Mathews has been in veterinary medicine for over 40 years, starting when he was 15 years old and his parents had to drive him to work to clean stalls!

Dr. Cord Offermann

Dr. Cord Offermann joined our practice in October of 2006 after spending three years as a small animal/exotic animal practitioner in Canyon Lake. Dr. Offermann is a 2003 graduate of Colorado State University, and has a special interest in exotic animals, primarily reptiles. Dr. Offermann became an equal partner in Kyle Animal Hospital in 2009.

Dr. Dana Greenleaf with her husband Joseph and son Emmett.

Dr. Dana Greenleaf

Dr. Dana Greenleaf was actually born and raised in southeastern Mississippi and has had a passion for animals for as long as she can remember. She received her undergraduate degree from Tufts University in Boston, MA, and she is a 2009 honors graduate of the Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent the next 9 years (before coming to her senses and moving back south!) as a small animal practitioner in a high quality, 24-hour hospital in northeastern Pennsylvania. Her special interests include internal medicine, feline medicine, dentistry, and pain management.

She and her husband Joseph have three cats, (Simon, Francesca and Cricket) who are undoubtedly spoiled along with a son, Emmett (who they are trying NOT to spoil!) Dr. Greenleaf truly does love getting to interact with clients and their furry loved-ones on a daily basis.

Dr. Jen Chapin

Dr. Jen Chapin obtained her bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences (and a minor in French) from Texas A&M University.

She later received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Texas A&M in 2014.

After graduation she  stayed in the central Texas area working for larger corporate small animal practices, before joining Kyle Animal Hospital in 2018.

Her professional interests include dentistry, dermatology, and pain management. Dr. Chapin has a special place in her heart for felines, and she currently shares her household with three rambunctious cats named Luna, Razzy, and Ketzel. In her spare time, she enjoys watching funny movies and finding new things to plant in her garden outside.

Dr. Ankur Gupta

Dr. Ankur Gupta with wife Tiffany, daughters Sora and Soleil, and son Sai

Dr. Ankur Gupta

Dr. Ankur Gupta is first joined our hospital in 2015.  Unfortunately for us, in 2016 outside pressures forced a family move to Colorado. Unfortunately for Colorado, in 2021 Dr. Gupta moved back from Colorado and rejoined our team!

Dr. Gupta’s family is originally from India; his mother and father moved to America in 1975. Dr. Gupta and an older brother were born and raised in Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 as a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society and Dean’s list. You will notice that Dr. Gupta has a "VMD", not a "DVM" degree. A VMD is the exact same degree as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM); however, the letters “VMD” stand for the Latin terminology, Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris and is used by the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Gupta has 10 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery, and we are excited to welcome him back!
